About Cherry
Cherry Chiles is a wedding and portrait photographer based in West Des Moines, IA. Her love of photography began at the age of 18 during her own senior portrait session. Like most teenagers, Cherry wasn’t entirely sure what she was meant to do for the rest of her life. However, the experience she had that day exposed her to an entirely new world. A career as photographer presented the opportunity to capture someone’s story & moments and turn it into art. Needless to say, Cherry knew she had found her spark.
Cherry went on to receive her Bachelor of Arts in Photography from Brooks Institute in 2008. After graduation, she relocated to Los Angeles where she landed a position with a highly sought after photography studio. In her time there, she worked on numerous magazine photo shoots, music videos, and reality shows like Keeping up with the Kardashians.
In 2011, Cherry returned to her Midwest roots and launched her photography career in Iowa City. With over a decade behind the camera, Cherry has perfected her style of classic and timeless images.
In 2020, Cherry added mother to her resume and came to understand her sessions from a client’s perspective even more. She realized it’s not always about the perfectly posed photo, but about embracing the beauty in every moment. We can’t stop time, but by allowing Cherry to capture your story, she can help you relive the emotions behind life’s most precious moments forever.
